Guide to Disassembling Worm Gear Box
1、 Tool preparation and safety points
Disassembling the worm gear box is like performing a precision surgery, where tools and protection are indispensable. You need to prepare:
Anti slip gloves and goggles: prevent oil stains and scratches on parts
Torque wrench: to avoid uneven force when tightening bolts
Special puller: used for smooth separation of gears and bearings
Cleaning agents and soft bristled brushes: maintaining cleanliness during component disassembly
Special reminder: Before starting work, be sure to cut off the power and hang a warning sign. Anti slip pads should be laid on oily surfaces.
2、 Detailed explanation of disassembly steps
Disassembling in order can avoid domino effect damage:
Shell separation: First remove the locating pin, then loosen the bolt, and use a top screw to evenly open the joint surface
Dismantling of gear set: mark the meshing position and lightly tap the non working surface with a copper rod
Bearing removal: Heat to around 80 ℃, and align the force point of the puller with the axis
Sealing treatment: The old sealing ring must be thoroughly cleaned of residual glue, and the groove should be wiped with alcohol
When encountering corroded parts, spray loosening agent and soak for 2 hours before operation.
3、 Assembly and debugging tips
The three golden rules for revitalizing the gearbox:
Pre lubrication: Apply the same type of grease to all moving parts, filling up to 60% of the cavity
Center test: Manually rotate the wheel for more than 3 turns and feel if there are any sticking points
Gap adjustment: Check the axial clearance of the worm gear with a feeler gauge and control it within 0.1-0.15mm
During trial operation, it is necessary to increase the speed step by step: first run at low speed for 10 minutes, then gradually increase to the working speed, and monitor the vibration and temperature rise changes during this period.
